Bass Guitar: Basics 2 – UC APPROVED
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to further students’ introduction to the bass guitar. This course will guide students through many playing examples composed specifically to help them grasp key concepts and expand their technique so that they are constantly pushing their boundaries. Students will explore various music theory concepts that will inform their musicianship, and they will focus on composing and improvising on the bass. Students will explore styles of music, the evolution of bass playing, and important figures in bass history. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
