COURSE DESCRIPTION: This beginning ukulele course was designed to give students a solid foundation in playing this fun, portable instrument. Students will build their interest in the ukulele as they learn to play chords and rhythms. Students will learn how to strum songs, read tablature, use various playing techniques, and read and listen critically to music. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
