Child Development: Semester 1
Description: This course is an introductory course in child development that begins with theories of child development, then proceeds to trace development from pregnancy to infancy. Throughout their studies, students will explain the reason for studying child development and selected developmental theories; identify the characteristics of parenting, including preparedness and teen pregnancy; identify correct facts concerning conception, including the influences of heredity and environment; explain the characteristics of pregnancy; and describe the processes occurring during prenatal development and the childbirth process.
