Music has always played in huge role in my life. I started playing piano at age 8, and took lessons for 10 straight years. I started playing the flute at age 10, and took lessons here and there for a couple of years. I was always in band and orchestra in Jr. High and High School. Though I love these two instruments and find so much joy in them, my biggest passion lies in singing. I started taking voice lessons at age 14 and quickly caught on and have absolutely loved it ever since. I have had several different voice teachers throughout the years, and through those few teachers I have learned different styles from jazz to musical theatre and then to classical and opera. Overall I have had 9 total years of formal vocal training. I have been in several operas, operettas, and musicals and have also sung in many choirs, including the University of Utah Singers under the direction of Brady Allred. I have been teaching for 9 years through the Wasatch Music Coaching Academy, and also privately in my home studio.
TEACHING STYLE
It's important to me to connect with my students to create a fun and friendly environment, while also focusing seriously on technique and improvement in their instrument. With my voice students, I choose a wide variety of musical styles to best fit their interests and ability. Promoting vocal health through singing correctly is instrumental in my teaching.
