Policies
EA Policies:
The ratio for semi-private academic tutoring is a maximum of four students with one teacher.
EA assigns each student to a teacher(s) who can meet their unique needs and academic goals. If there is a specific teacher request, please contact EA; they will do their best to accommodate your needs.
EA will email notes after every session, which share what the student accomplished during their session.
EA does its best to provide a make-up session if more than 24 hours notice is given; scheduling a make-up session is the student/parent's responsibility and must be scheduled within two weeks. EA does not guarantee a make-up session but does its best to accommodate student schedules and academic needs. This might mean that a student will have the option to work with a different EA teacher. EA does not refund or forward credit for any cancellations or no-shows
EA does not provide a make-up session for a no-show or a cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled session.
If a student schedules a drop-in session and fails to attend, payment will still be processed.
Appropriate behavior is always expected. This includes punctuality, respecting Educational Advantage staff/students/resources/office, and using appropriate language.
We ask that students keep their cell phones put away during their session (parents will be notified if there is a problem or concern).
Academic behavior is always expected. This includes coming prepared with the materials needed to work and being productive during sessions. EA does not provide students with a laptop.
EA reserves the right to discontinue services if there is a longstanding or egregious offense (or an outstanding balance).
EA might require a change in schedule if there is a conflict with another student that prohibits or distracts from the learning of other students.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian submitting this registration form to provide the contact information for any other parent/guardians that need to be included in EA communication and to disclose the details of all parent/guardian involvement.
Sessions are paid for in advance: invoices are emailed at the end of each month for services scheduled the following month. The credit card on file will be processed within 48 hours of sending the invoice.
It is the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian to notify EA within 24-48 hours of receiving my invoice if there is an issue or you need to request a schedule change. If EA is notified after the card on file has been processed, and we need to make a change that results in a credit, this credit will be held on your account and applied to future services (not refunded).
No prorated refunds are given once the current month has been paid for. A credit will be held if there is a schedule change after billing. As is true for any cancellation, EA requires at least 24-hour notice of any change and will prorate the credit accordingly. Please note: Credit cannot be used to purchase an online class or summer class/trip.
If my invoice is not paid on time, late fees will be added (starting at $25). If my account is delinquent for more than 60 days, EA may temporarily suspend tutoring services until the account is paid in full (delinquent accounts may also be sent to collections). I understand that banking fees (bounced checks, chargeback fees, etc.) will incur a $35 fee.
EA - Summer Policies:
Attendance is required for summer classes AND is part of the final grade (up to 3% per day). Students cannot recoup attendance points for a missed session but are strongly encouraged to schedule a session to make up the coursework and instruction that they missed.
There is no guarantee for a make-up session for summer group courses, and students will NOT be provided with work to complete independently. Our courses are lecture-based and require in-person attendance. Based on teacher availability, students may be able to schedule a PRIVATE session to review what they missed. This is billable in addition to the group course fee.
All exams are taken during class. If a student wants/needs to retake their final (because of a failing grade or to improve their grade), they have five business days after the last day of class. After these five days, grades are final. The student or parent/guardian is responsible for scheduling a retake.
A deposit will be processed after submitting a summer enrollment form. This is a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. This amount will be deducted from the balance due (collected in the summer) but will not be refunded or credited if a student cancels.
Sessions are paid for in advance: invoices are emailed at the end of each month for services scheduled the following month. The credit card on file will be processed within 48 hours of sending the invoice.

Policies for Course Enrollment:
There is a Student Handbook for all students taking an online course for credit through Educational Advantage. This handbook can be found on our website and in the student orientation that every student can access in their course; I understand that it is my (student and parent) responsibility to review the Student Handbook and all policies therein. This includes course expirations and extension policies, quiz/assignment/exam resubmissions, and more.
Students are expected to maintain high academic integrity and be honest in their work. EA maintains strict policies against plagiarism (including Ai) and cheating, which can be found in our student handbook.
Online courses offered through EA are rigorous and generally take the equivalent number of hours to complete as a course in a traditional classroom would.
The student/parent's responsibility is to ensure that any class taken from EA will transfer to their school of record.
Students must submit a Transcript Request Form (on the EA website) for a transcript to be sent.
Students can withdraw from a course within TEN days of enrollment to receive a 50% credit towards a new course. After ten days, no course credit will be issued. Please note: this is course credit specifically and not transferrable for other services; no credit for services will be held.
Courses offered through Educational Advantage are not NCAA-approved. Please contact EA for NCAA providers (we work with many student-athletes and can support their studies via third-party providers/schools).
Course fees are due before enrollment.
If a student wants/needs to resubmit an assignment, quiz, or exam, they must first complete a Resubmission Form on the EA website (a resubmission fee is due before form submission).
EA is an accredited online high school but also a tutoring center; the services provided through each are separate. If students want to combine their online courses with in-person instruction to maximize progress and learning, please contact EA directly to discuss those options.
