Educational Advantage is a fully accredited online high school. Our music courses are available in all 50 states through our online LMS (Learning Management System). Keep in mind that any high school student can take our online courses, and that the credit earned is applied to the official transcript of the local high school attended by the student. The second think to keep in mind is that offering these courses to your students adds you to a network of private music teachers taking the next step in music education.
It started with a vision to change music education—both in providing a new pathway for students to learn music, but also in capturing their interest during high school (when they are required to earn credit and might be more interested in making music one of those choices). It also started with my son, then a high school student, who had just started taking private guitar lessons. We looked for guitar options at his high school so that he could get credit while he was learning to play and help satisfy graduation requirements.
There are about 16 million high school students in the United States. Projections from the Department of Education say that this number will remain consistent for the next ten years. How many of these high school students do you teach? Each of these students is required to complete a defined number of course credits to fulfill graduation requirements. Sixty to seventy percent of these courses are mandatory, and the student has no choice but to take them. The other thirty to forty percent of classes, provide the student with an opportunity. The category of student options falls into two groups, Fine Arts and Electives. Our courses satisfy the requirements for Fine Arts and Elective credit.
