I have played drums for over 50 years and was on the road for over 10 years. I have played with all style and size bands from duos to big bands to show bands to symphonic bands and orchestras. I play and teach all styles of music including jazz, rock, country, dance, orchestra and ethnic rhythms. I studied drums in New York City with Sam Ulano for many years.
The method I teach is Sam Ulano’s drum method along with my own innovations. This method teaches students to be able to master the drum set and drum percussion to play in any situation including orchestra, concert band, and marching band.
I currently play in several bands, 3 Concert Bands, One Big Band, a combo and a Civil War band. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and Master’s Degree in Communications. I am retired from the U.S. Government as a Senior Communications Specialist.
I teach drums and currently have 14 drum students.
I teach students to learn to read music and play drums and percussion as quickly as possible so they may fit into their school bands and accomplish their goals.
