Outside of teaching percussion and musical performances I have worked in special education for over 15 years.
My life of music started knee high at the age of 4 playing drums and piano. At the age of 15 I gave my first musical performance, from that stage on I knew my talent had found a home.
In the 11th grade I toured with a local funk group in Washington DC through 26 cities learning music and the life of travel at an early age. During my last high school and college years I performed extensively playing classical, jazz, rock, funk, go-go, gospel, marching band, R&B, and with local rap artists.
My other musical passion is teaching. Throughout my college years and beyond I served as a percussion instructor and assistant band director at Morgan State University. As part of the Morgan State University Magnificent Marching Machine I served as an instructional leader in music and performance mentor for the team. I taught part time as a percussion instructor at Milford Mill High School giving individual lessons for over 10 years.
I provide music lessons for all skill levels and abilities. Understanding that not everyone who takes lessons aspires to become a famous musician. We have students who want to play in church, who want to play a piano that was left to them from a relative, homeschoolers who want to learn music basics and seniors who have wanted to play an instrument since childhood! We take students from where they are and show them how to play a song in one to two lessons. Our recitals by far are the main difference between us and our competitors. We offer our students recitals with national recording artists, rappers, vocalists and instrumental performers at a local venue, Our parents are blown away when they see and hear their child or loved one performing thru a sound system with other students and performers in a show like atmosphere.
