TEACHING AT MOZINGO SINCE: 2012 YOUNGEST AGE: violin/fiddle = 3 | piano & voice = 5 Becky graduated with a BA in music (Spanish minor) from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. She has played piano for twenty years (taught for five yrs) and violin for eighteen years (taught for six years). She has been teaching at Mozingo since 2012. Becky has toured with the Josh Golden Band, sharing the stage with NeverShoutNever, performing at the PGA tournament in Dallas and Alabama Amusement. She is currently in a band with her husband, called ZIGO, playing violin, piano and singing. She also has played with Kent Henry, Monroeville, Jars of Clay, Trent Dabbs, Kaleb Krueger, the Paisley Birch Band, and many more. ZIGO has performed at the Americana Acoustic Series and Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in Nashville. ZIGO is currently working on their next album in Nashville.

TEACHING STYLE

Becky teaches many different musical styles, including classical, jazz, country/fiddle/bluegrass, folk, pop, worship and rock. She will instruct on ear training, technique, correct fingering, theory, rhythm… For violin, Becky teaches the Suzuki violin method. For piano, she teaches from the Alfred’s Basic Piano Library and Hanon 60 exercises (but is open to supplement with other methods and genres). Becky has two expectations for all of her students: work hard and have fun!
