TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy working with people and finding out what makes each student “tick,” effectively communicating ideas and in turn listening to the student in order to develop trust between myself and my students. I customize each private lesson and curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student, maintaining high, yet realistic, standards for them. Furthermore, I hope to instill confidence and autonomy by allowing each student to be actively involved in selecting repertoire, critiquing performances of themselves and others, and organizing activities and projects. Not only do I focus on developing the fundamentals of proper flute playing but I also spend time working on the whole musician and person.
