Flutist Alysa Treber is a performer and teacher based in West Los Angeles. An active performer, she can be heard on upcoming indie films, and plays with orchestras in the greater Southern California region. Alysa also teaches private lessons, and serves as an adjudicator and clinician. A fierce advocate for performing new works of music, Alysa has premiered pieces by Steven Luksan, Tom Childs and others. Chamber music features heavily in Alysa's repertoire—she is a founding member of the Silver Edges Duo, with flutist Luisa Cartagena, as well as a founding member of Doppio Winds with clarinetist Dr. Jennifer Fraley. Alysa studied with Donna Shin at the University of Washington, as well as with Richard Sherman at Michigan State University. She has also studied with Zart Domburian-Eby and Karla Flygare in Seattle.
TEACHING STYLE
I believe that one-on-one lessons are the best way for any student to improve and grow as a flute player and a musician. If you're just starting the flute, or have been playing for several years, I will work with you to come up with a unique lesson plan to help you meet your goals. We'll have fun too!
