Trumpet: Basics 1 (non-credit)
This is a non-credit course and will not provide high school credit or instructor feedback/communication.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Trumpet: Basics 1 is designed to introduce students to the trumpet in an effective, gradual and fun way that will lay a solid foundation for growth on the instrument. Throughout this course students will study must-know technique and practice habits for learning how to play. They will also learn how to read music. Through exploring the history of this instrument, students will better understand how the instrument’s design has evolved and how it functions to produce sound. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
