Saxophone: Basics 2 (non-credit)
This is a non-credit course and will not provide high school credit or instructor feedback/communication.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Saxophone: Basics 2 will further students’ understanding of the saxophone. Students will continue to learn about the history of the saxophone, as well as significant saxophone players. Students will learn how to read notes and rhythms, and how to finger these notes on the saxophone. Every lesson includes listening samples that showcase the saxophone in its usual performance settings of jazz, classical, pop, and blues. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
