Saxophone: Basics 1 – UC APPROVED
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Saxophone: Basics 1 is designed to get students playing the saxophone as soon as possible. Students learn about the history and evolution of the instrument. In addition, students learn basic maintenance and practice breathing and articulation techniques. Students focus on playing and performance techniques and begin simple composition. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
