COURSE DESCRIPTION: Music Theory: Foundations 1 is a continuation of the Music Theory beginner courses and builds on the concepts of reading and writing music. This semester also targets ear training for intervals, giving students the tools to better identify what they hear when listening to music. Students can expect to learn about theoretical concepts and hear clear examples of these ideas in real world settings. By more fully understanding the building blocks of music, students open themselves up to new worlds of learning and playing music.
