This is a non-credit course and will not provide high school credit or instructor feedback/communication.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Flute: Foundations 2 continues addressing topics covered in Flute: Foundations 1. Students will look more at technique and expressive options, including mordent ornaments, to improve technical skills and enhance their sound. They will also continue their study of basic note and rhythm reading skills and will work towards learning all major scales and arpeggios in one to two octaves, as well as increasing articulation variation. Topics in world music are covered to broaden students’ perspective and understanding of the instrument. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
