Flute: Foundations 1 (non-credit)
This is a non-credit course and will not provide high school credit or instructor feedback/communication.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Flute: Foundations 1 continues addressing topics covered in Basics 1 and 2. They will further their study of basic note reading skills and will work towards learning all major scales and arpeggios. They will focus on expressivity through dynamics. Students are introduced to famous and influential flutists and to the members of the flute family in order to broaden students’ perspective and understanding of the instrument. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
