Drums: Basics 2 – UC APPROVED
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Drums: Basics 2 continues to build a solid drumming foundation. Students study the fundamentals of playing the ride cymbal, hihat, crash cymbal, and tom toms. Students learn to play essential groove and fill ideas that every drummer needs to know. This course highlights the history cymbals, as well as how they are made. Students learn how to count and hear rhythms accurately and sharpen their counting skills through a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make.
