Classical Guitar: Foundations 1 – UC APPROVED
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Classic Guitar: Foundations 1 builds upon topics learned in the Basics courses. Students will dive further into the fundamentals of playing the classical guitar and develop their reading and listening skills to better understand how music is written for their instrument. This course features expanding intermediate techniques to challenge students, such as the free stroke finger technique. Students also examine different guitar styles, including Flamenco and Romantic Era. Students can expect to encounter a variety of listening and playing assignments, as well as lesson quizzes and exams, and will create a portfolio of recordings that reflect the progress they make, original compositions, and a skill set to tackle new music.
