EARN CREDIT Credit

EARN CREDIT

We know that students struggle with different classes and sometimes need to learn that course material in a different way. Because we are an accredited, online high school, students can take any course from our catalog to earn credit that satisfies their graduation requirements. Once the course is completed, EA sends an official transcript to the school, and that class is recorded on their school transcript. Students can take one class, multiple classes, or even attend EA as a full time student. Most students who take one of our classes for credit also attend EA regularly for support.

SCHEDULE

Most students who take an online class from EA also set up a consistent schedule to get support with their class. Students can choose from any of the following options:

  • Parent release (during the school day); 75 minute sessions; 2-3 days/week (depending on red/white schedule)
  • After school; generally 1-hour session, but can be any length of time
  • Drop-in; length varies on availability and student need
  • Custom schedule (for part-time, full-time, or home-schooled students)
  • Independent (no support from EA)

Sessions can be scheduled in a semi-private or private setting.

PRICE

Course fees are $200/semester. A $50 credit is given to students who set up a schedule at EA or Granger School of Music. Please note that this course fee is in addition to tutoring services (instruction).

ACT/SAT PREPACT/SAT Prep

ACT/SAT PREP

Most colleges/universities require either the ACT or SAT as part of their admissions requirements, sometimes specifying one or the other. Students will take the ACT at school during their junior year, but we strongly suggest that they take it sooner to allow for prep time. Because college applications are generally due (at least for early admittance) in November/December, the last opportunity to take the ACT is typically September of their senior year.

Each test prep schedule is catered to the individual student and his or her goals. If the student has taken the test before, we base our suggested study schedule off of those results—taking into account the student’s goal for improvement. When students have not taken the test before, we can either administer an unofficial exam to serve as a benchmark, or can set up a schedule aimed to prep for the student’s first test date. Because most students take the exam several times, we readjust our focus and schedule to goals of each subsequent exam.

Most students who take an online class from EA also set up a consistent schedule to get support with their class. Students can choose from any of the following options:

FULL TIME Full Time

FULL TIME

We know that there are students in every school who need to learn in an alternative environment and that this environment looks different for each individual student. Whether for medical, athletic, learning, or personal reasons, we support all students and their goal to successfully graduate from high school. Students who wish to graduate from EA must engage before their senior year and must take at least 20% of their classes with us, as a requirement of our accrediting agency. The best way to get started on a full-time track is to schedule a meeting so that we can review the current transcript, reasons for shifting to EA, goals, and timelines.

SCHEDULE

Full time schedules are completely customizable per the student’s needs and availability. Custom schedules are typically discussed during an in-person consultation.

PRICE

Course fees are $200/semester. A $50 credit is given to students who set up a schedule at EA or Granger School of Music.

Custom pricing is determined after an in-person consultation.
